Position Summary :
- Lead pricing modelling projects, pricing assumptions and profitability analyses to provide suitable solutions to Distribution Channels, balance financial requirements and marketing needs.
- Review channel compensation, propose reinsurance arrangement of new product and negotiate with reinsurer
- Talent development and staff engagement
- Meet the pricing standards required by Group Office and complies with BNM regulatory requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Product Pricing and Development
Lead the process of end-to-end new product development from technical product development to product launching.Support the Company in developing the product strategy including the product roadmap, as aligned with the customer proposition.Set assumptions that are sensible, reasonable, sustainable, prudent while not being overly conservative until it prevents better value to customers and shareholders.Focus on value-added analysis to provide financial insights to influence business decision-making for sustainable growthWork collaboratively within the team and across functionsEffectively communicate pricing outcome and key sensitivities during Product Development Committee.Support distribution channels on all product-related matters e.g. product roll out, training, sales collaterals.Provide solutions and options to stakeholders, so we're perceived as business partners and not just challengers.Be accountable for pricing's accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.Highlight potential issues early (product design, resource management, assumptions, new regulations, business strategy) for smooth implementation.Ensure products are administered correctly in the system via robust User Acceptance Testing procedures.Obtain necessary approvals (Regulator and Group Office) timely, giving adequate time for review. Issues should be highlighted and resolved earlier to avoid last-minute surprises or changes.Drive and lead ad-hoc projects based on emerging business needs.Leadership and Team Development
Review works done by team members and provide guidance in carrying day to day tasks.Manage resource efficiently.Develop and equip the team members with relevant technical skills to support the business needs.Coach, mentor, motivate and carry out regular career development dialogue and provide constructive feedback.Establish a structured development plan for each staff.Cultivate an engaged learning culture of understanding on what to look out in daily work and encourage team’s curiosity / desire to learn, promote team confidence and independence.Encourage / challenge team to have a customer-centric mindset (value, design, experience).Encourage attitude to want to learn, and give team the tools to develop their technical and soft-skills knowledge and capabilities.Encourage openness and trust in team, seeking and listening to feedback.Improve key areas (connection to mission and purpose, company positioning, opinions count, recognition) by linking recognition of good effort and analysis to the value it provides to customers, business decisions.Challenge team to think on the value of our products to customers and society in general, and how our contributions make a difference / fit into that.Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science and pursuing Actuarial Professional Exam in any actuarial professional body.Proficient in spreadsheet and programming, especially Excel and Prophet.A good team player who is keen to learn and able to work independently.Highly motivated, results oriented and solutions focus.Good oral and written communication skills in English.At least 8 years of actuarial experience, with at least 3 years in actuarial pricingSeniorities
