CCTV Technician

Job descriptionProven experience as a CCTV or security systems technician (minimum 3–5 years preferred). Strong knowledge of CCTV systems (analog & IP), DVR / NVR configuration, and networking basics. Proficiency in cabling, crimping, and electrical / electronic troubleshooting. Familiarity with access control systems, alarm systems, and other low-voltage security equipment. Ability to use testing tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. Physical ability to climb ladders, lift equipment, and work in various environments. SPM / Diploma / Certificate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field. Industry certifications (e.g., Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Milestone, or similar). Knowledge of health and safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, access control, alarms, and related security equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of surveillance systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with cameras, DVRs / NVRs, cabling, and network connections.
- Perform system upgrades, firmware updates, and replacements when required.
- Ensure proper wiring, cabling, and power connections for system stability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics.
- Provide technical support and training to clients / end-users on system operation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during installations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, system configurations, and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and IT teams for system integration.
