Overview
As the Tax Manager for the Finance & Accounts Department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the organization's tax strategy, compliance and reporting obligations, ensuring adherence to local and international tax laws while optimizing tax efficiency and minimizing risk. You will also provide guidance on tax planning, manage audits, and support strategic business decisions with sound tax advice.
Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance : Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (e.g. : corporate tax, SST, withholding tax, etc.). Maintain compliance with local, state and international tax regulations. Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies aligned with business goals. Advise management on tax implications of business decisions, investments or restructuring.
- Tax Reporting : Oversee accurate tax provision and deferred tax calculations for financial reporting (e.g. : in accordance with MFRS / IFRS). Coordinate with the finance team during month-end and year-end closings.
- Liaison with Authorities and External Advisors : Act as the main point of contact with tax authorities, auditors and external tax consultants. Manage tax audits, inquiries and disputes, ensuring timely resolution. Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations. Assess the impact of regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of required adjustments. Identify and mitigate tax-related risks through process improvements and internal controls. Ensure documentations and policies are in place to support tax positions and compliance. Ensure compliance with transfer pricing rules and documentation requirements. Coordinate preparation of transfer pricing reports and manage related-party transaction reviews.
- Team Management & Development : Supervise and coach junior Finance team members. Provide training and guidance to Finance team members on tax compliance and best practices.
Are you the one?
ACCA, Degree in Finance / Accounting or equivalent.At least 4 years of experience in corporate tax, indirect tax and exposure to tax audit and transfer pricing.Strong technical knowledge of local and international tax regulations, including corporate tax, SST and transfer pricing.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex tax matters and support strategic decisions.Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to work with tax authorities, auditors and internal teams.Proficiency in tax systems and ERP software, with up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and compliance changes.Possess own transport and willing to work at Bukit Raja, Klang.Benefits
