Job DescriptionWorking as part of our global Tax organization the Indirect Tax Specialist supports the various indirect tax activities for our company globally, in general supporting efforts to ensure that the organization is compliant with all indirect tax laws, all filings are accurate and correct, that all processes are documented, and all indirect tax matters are resolved timely, thereby reducing the tax burden to the organization.This position requires demonstrated indirect tax knowledge, analytical abilities, communication skills, and will be responsible for assisting in various facets of the Global Indirect Tax process, including review of master data, transactional inputs, system design, and controls.
- Position Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following
- Working with an outsourced provider, prepare and review Indirect Tax returns for multiple jurisdictions globally;
- Provide Indirect Tax technical assistance to support the shared services operations;
- Assist the Indirect Tax Manager in the development and implementation of KPI’s to monitor the VAT processes and performance of the company;
- Continuously monitor tax process and systems to ensure that that they are efficient, accurate, up to date and comply with current regulatory requirements;
- Actively identify opportunities to achieve improvements through setting up or participating in group projects;
- Keep abreast of changes to Indirect Tax legislation and how they impact the company;
- Share knowledge within the team and assist in achieving team objectives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance;
- Ideally minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax function related to indirect taxes;
- Fluent English required and other language an advantage;
- Experience working in an organization providing services across multiple markets or geographies;
- Problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive work ethic;
- Ability to work independently, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to support Tax research and investigation;
- Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required;
- Experience with tax determination systems (e.g., Sabrix, Vertex);
- SAP experience desired;
- Ability to work independently and support a Tax team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness;
- Demonstrated commitment to education and professional development;
- Ability to operate independently and navigate through change or uncertainty;
- Team player with focus on collaboration;
