About the role

HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD is seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator with a strong background in managing and maintaining open-source databases such as Oracle DB in production environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and backup and recovery strategies, while also being proficient in automation and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oracle Certified Professional - such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, Yugabyte, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
• Design, create, and manage databases for production and development environments.
• Recovery strategies and procedures
• Troubleshooting skills Install, configure, and upgrade MariaDB and Oracle DB on Linux.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning and troubleshooting.
• Implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
• Set up and maintain master-slave or master-master replication for MariaDB.
• Automate tasks using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Python, or Bash.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with standards.
• Manage cloud databases on AWS, GCP, or Azure and support production rollouts.
