About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, this pivotal role will be based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia with a focus on managing the daily finance operations that include completing bank reconciliations; issuing client invoices; entering supplier bills and managing the central finance email inbox.
The Financial Accountant will also support and provide the CFO and management team with timely accurate reports and other information required for business activities critical to the growth strategy.
Responsibilities
Reporting Period End Close & Financial Reporting :
- Own the end-to-end period-end process for multiple entities (Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia) and ensure timely preparation of management reports.
- Perform detailed balance sheet and profit & loss account reconciliation and analysis, identifying variances and recommending solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and forecasts to drive business decisions.
- Prepare responses to external accountants in relation to year end accounts, including tax returns.
Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable & Bank Reconciliations :
Raise and send client invoices, and assist team members with following up overdue payments.Enter supplier invoices, submit invoices for payment approval, and prepare and prioritize payment runs.Daily bank reconciliations.Maintain fixed asset registers.Payroll & Expense Reimbursements :
Manage monthly payroll processes across multiple countries, including preparation of Australian payroll and submitting payroll details to outsourced providers for other countries and reviewing their calculations.Prepare all statutory payroll obligations including monthly payroll tax returns, annual reporting for Australian worker’s compensation, and managing outsourced providers to ensure they meet their statutory obligations.Review and process employee expense reimbursements on a monthly basis.Insurance and Indirect Taxes (GST, VAT, state-based taxes) :
Prepare responses to queries from brokers for annual insurance reviewsPrepare company accounts and respond to adviser queries arising during the preparation of GST and VAT returns.Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and strengthen working relationships.Coordinating with the Company Secretary to ensure share register and other company details are updated with corporate authoritiesCollaborating with Commercial Manager to ensure client subscription details are maintained accurately.Managing central finance inbox.Managing travel bookings for the management team as required.Skills and Experience

4+ years of hands-on experience work within a finance team, managing daily processes as well as preparing reports; experience with managed service providers will be an added advantage.Experience working in multi-national companies, with exposure to Australia, United States, United Kingdom and Singapore is preferred.Solid financial and statutory knowledge, and experience with key accounting and reporting processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Advanced skills using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint with particular emphasis on advanced Excel skills for pivot tables, reports & dashboards.Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership by taking responsibility and accountability and takes pride in their work.This full-time role requires some flexibility in working hours across time zones which is required for collaboration with our global team. A hybrid work arrangement will be offered.Qualifications
