Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Desktop Engineer to join our growing organization. In this role, you will provide on-site technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation within the office and manufacturing environment. You will be the go-to person for resolving any technical problems that the end-users face on a daily basis, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
Responsibilities
- Support production to setup testers and other relevant equipment required in production processes.
- Provide hands-on support for end-users in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, networking and cybersecurity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other office equipment, including installing and updating software applications, operating system patches, antivirus, and other necessary programs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, printer malfunctions, and peripheral device issues.
- Provide solutions for user-specific technical issues, ensuring a quick resolution to avoid work disruptions.
- Provide basic user training and guidance on various software, applications, IT security, and best practices for efficient use of company technology.
- Assist with the setup of new hardware and software, as well as periodic system maintenance to ensure optimum performance.
- Assist in managing hardware inventory and track repairs or replacements as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and service logs.
- Report recurring issues or trends to the IT team and assist with troubleshooting root causes.
- Maintain detailed records of IT assets and inventory.
- Work closely with other IT team members, remote support staff, and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Provide feedback on potential improvements for better end-user experiences and system efficiency.
- Work closely with IT team in the UK and helpdesk to support and improve experience when needed.
Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.At least 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or deskside support.Proficiency in supporting Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems.Experience with hardware repairs and troubleshooting (PCs, laptops, printers, CCTV, etc.).Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other common software tools.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.Ability to use basic programming to generate dashboards and other reporting.#J-18808-Ljbffr
