The Head of Segment Marketing is a mission-critical senior leadership role responsible for owning the end-to-end marketing strategy, planning, and execution for Maxis Business's key B2B segments (SMB, Mid-market, Corporate, Government, Wholesale). This role acts as the primary strategic business partner for the Segment Sales teams, serving as the voice of the customer and the market.
The Head of Segment Marketing is accountable for driving demand, pipeline generation, and revenue growth by ensuring that all marketing activities, product propositions, and go-to-market strategies are deeply tailored to the unique needs of each designated segment. The role leads a team of Segment Marketing Specialists to translate business objectives into measurable marketing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Market Insight : Serve as the primary Marketing Business Partner for Segment Sales leadership, ensuring deep alignment between marketing strategies and segment revenue targets.Strategic Leadership & Market Insight : Own the comprehensive marketing roadmap for each B2B segment, translating overarching business objectives into clear, actionable marketing plans.Strategic Leadership & Market Insight : Champion the voice of the customer within the organization by deeply understanding the unique needs, challenges, buying behaviours, and market dynamics of each assigned segment.Strategic Leadership & Market Insight : Drive ongoing market research, competitor analysis, and customer segmentation to identify new growth opportunities and maintain a competitive advantage.Proposition & Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy : Collaborate with Product and Solutions team to ensure that new product offerings and solutions are effectively tailored, packaged, and messaged to meet segment-specific needs.Proposition & Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy : Lead the development of segment-specific go-to-market strategies for new products, solutions, and key initiatives, ensuring relevance, effective targeting, and successful market launch.Proposition & Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy : Develop compelling value propositions and messaging frameworks that resonate with the distinct challenges and priorities of each customer segment.Campaign Strategy & Execution : Drive the development of comprehensive, integrated marketing campaign strategies and plans for all segments, from awareness and consideration to lead generation and customer retention.Campaign Strategy & Execution : Oversee the translation of strategic plans into campaign briefs, working in close collaboration with the Brand & Comms pillar to ensure creative and content requirements are met.Campaign Strategy & Execution : Ensure the seamless collaboration with the Customer Engagement & Activation pillar to execute relevant events, roadshows, and other on-ground activities that directly support segment goals.Sales Funnel & Enablement : Hold direct accountability for driving the sales funnel for each segment, ensuring marketing efforts consistently contribute to a robust pipeline of qualified leads.Sales Funnel & Enablement : Equip segment sales teams with the necessary insights, training, and tools (e.g., presentations, battle cards, case studies) to effectively engage prospects and accelerate the sales cycle.Sales Funnel & Enablement : Establish and optimize lead qualification and handoff processes with Sales to ensure high-quality lead progression and marketing-influenced revenue.Performance Management & Accountability : Own and manage the segment marketing budget, ensuring disciplined allocation and optimizing spend for maximum return on investment (ROI).Performance Management & Accountability : Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all segment marketing activities, including lead generation, customer acquisition, retention, and brand sentiment.Performance Management & Accountability : Provide regular, data-driven performance reviews and insights to senior management and Sales, demonstrating the direct business impact of marketing efforts.Team Leadership & People Management : Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Segment Marketing Specialists, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.Team Leadership & People Management : Provide strategic guidance and support to the team, empowering them to develop and execute integrated marketing plans for their respective segments.Team Leadership & People Management : Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate professional development to build a best-in-class segment marketing team.Requirements for the role
Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within B2B marketing or segment management.Proven expertise in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, integrated communications, event planning, and team management. Experience in the telecommunications or technology industry is highly preferred.Prior experience in a senior role at a leading advertising or media agency is a significant advantage.Preferred skills for strategic leadership and comprehensive marketing management. Expertise in B2B marketing and digital transformation is key.
