Site Safety Officer

Job Description

• Liaises closely with Project Manager and Engineers to uphold safety standards in accordance to local government requirements to enable smooth project execution
• Assists Project Manager in ensuring safety to be top priority in all aspects of construction work including building construction / conversion, demolition, tools removal and installation, etc.
• Enforce construction Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements. To ensure all the work activities, procedures and process are implemented according to OSH Act, Machinery Act and other local authorities on safety and health matters.
• Dealing with local authorities for the necessary application and inspections.
• Perform routine site inspections, participate in tool box meeting, Site Safety meeting, proactively assessing risk and identifying issues, etc.
• Assessing the risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of operations.
• Monitor and review permits for daily work (PTW).
• Lead incident investigation when needed and develop corrective actions / preventive actions for implementation.
• Assist in implementing EHS initiatives where necessary, recommend alternative safety practices to improve safety and work efficiency.
• Perform other EHS related duties as needed.
• Creating analytical reports of safety data.
• Report weekly inspection findings, audit summary, etc.
• Attend site progress meeting with consultants / client.
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Engineering (Environmental / Health / Safety) or equivalent.
• Possess DOSH Green Book / Yellow Book / Certificate (MUST).
• Familiar with local law / regulations and local authorities (related to construction field).
• Experienced in construction site safety monitoring.
• Required languages : English, Bahasa Melayu.
• Strong proficiency in spoken and written in English.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : RM4, RM6,000.00 per month
