Tax Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a tax strategy that optimizes the tax position of the company, including the Tax Corporate Governance Framework (TCGF). This involves transfer pricing, withholding taxes, sales & service tax (SST), capital gains tax, imported service tax, etc.
• Keep abreast of changes in tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure the organization remains compliant and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities. This includes conducting research, analyzing complex tax issues, and providing recommendations to management.
• Collaborate with the Finance team and other departments to ensure alignment and coordination on tax matters and to implement tax strategies and policies efficiently and in compliance with laws and regulations. Provide solutions to close gaps.
• Manage communications between tax agents, tax authorities, customs, legal counsels, and other stakeholders on all tax‑related matters.
• Monitor and review all tax compliance work. Liaise with IRBM and monitor the process of tax refunds and approval for tax credit set‑off against monthly tax instalment payment.
• Manage and oversee tax audits, investigations, and inquiries from tax authorities. Maintain relationships with tax authorities during audits or tax disputes and ensure appropriate strategies are in place to address tax inquiries, challenges, or disputes.
