Job description

Job Responsibilities

(1) 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) and Vendor Management

  • Manage 3PL providers and freight vendors to ensure overall smooth supply chain operations.
  • Coordinate all aspects of freight handling, transportation, and warehousing activities.
  • Monitor performance, ensuring adherence to SOPs, manage contract negotiations and build strong vendor relationships.
  • Oversee and manage stock-takes at the 3PL warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance.
  • Risk management and contingency planning for supply chain disruptions, such as geopolitical issues, natural disasters or supplier failures.

(2) Regulatory & Trade Control Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Customs regulations, HS Code classification, Duty, Service Tax, MITI, SIRIM and other government import / export requirements, also adherence to sales tax and other international and local government laws & regulations on import / export activities.
  • Adhere to Epson's Security Trade Control measures for all goods and delivery orders.
  • (3) Operational Excellence & Turnaround Time

  • Monitor and manage transportation, shipments and delivery orders to meet SOP and TAT targets.
  • Ensure 3PL providers and freight vendors meet KPIs, address operational issues and implement continuous improvements through collaboration with Regional HQ / subsidiaries and Epson Malaysia.
  • (4) Budget Planning and Cost Control

  • Analyse, control and monitor 3PL and logistics costs including freight and handling charges to strengthen operational cost-effectiveness and identify variances against budget and forecast costs.
  • Maintain product profit centre co-efficient factor accurately, including regular updates to the FDI factor to ensure precise budget / financial compliance and tracking during budget planning / forecast costs submission.
  • (5) Data Reporting and Audit Documentation

  • Prepare and update monthly reports related to logistic expenses, warehouse cost, freight and handling charges for local and regional reporting.
  • Conduct costing audit to ensure compliance, billing accuracy and un-covering cost savings potential, prepare documentation and support self-assessment for both internal and external audits.
  • (6) Products Write-Off and Disposal

  • Manage operational and transactional handling of written-off products in strict accordance with approved write-off decisions, internal policy guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements, in coordination with regional reporting.
  • Maintain and securely file all disposal documentation, write-off approvals, photographs, destruction certificates and disposal logs, to support a complete audit trail and facilitate both internal and external audits.
  • (7) Demo Units Management and Control

    Supervise and manage Demo Unit Management System (DUMAS) and control function, including oversight of personnel responsible for the following key activities :

    Ensure compliance with the DUMAS workflow, including proper documentation of operations.

  • Oversee the deployment of demo units to optimize utilization and loan availability, enforce actions to ensure recoverability and timely return of units in good condition.
  • Manage the upkeep and maintenance of demo storage, including location tracking, movement records and stock takes, as well as handling the write-off process in accordance with company policy.
  • Job Requirements

  • Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / International Trade / Accounting / Economics / Business or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years ' experience in Supply Chain Mangement related field.
  • Professional certifications and trainings in import / export procedures, documentation, customs clearance, trade terms, tax exemptions, and warehousing facilities will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, with proven ability in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Familiar with customs process workflows with hands-on experience on import / export declarations and goods classification, duty / tax assessment, all shipment mode and warehousing.
  • Detailed knowledge of governing bodies procedures and regulatory rules & policies including trade framework, import / export logistics and trade compliance (HS code, duties, tax etc).
  • Able to ensure efficient, compliant movement of goods while addressing global trade dynamics, sustainability and customer expectations.
  • Able to coordinate with internal and external partners to maintain clear communication, manage expectations, oversee inventory, budgets and end-to-end trade operations.
  • SAP application knowledge for SD and MM modules will be an added advantage.
