Construction Manager - Civil & Structural and Architectural (CSA)

- Oversees and manages the technical and supervisory aspects of Civil & Structural and Architectural (CSA) related deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the required specifications and project milestones.
- Provides technical guidance to CSA challenges and resolves any technical issues that arise during the construction process, commissioning and handover stages.
- Ensures compliance with relevant industry codes, standards and regulations.
- Monitors project progress, identifies and resolves issues, and provides regular status updates to key stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the design and engineering teams to ensure projects meet technical specifications and compliance requirements.
- Manages the daily activities on the construction site, overseeing the work of contractors, subcontractors and workers.
- Prepares reports on project progress, delays and defects, as well as technical reports and analyses.
- Prepares weekly and monthly programme updates to suit various reporting purposes, including i) high level milestones tracking (planned versus actual), ii) S-curve reports and Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis (planned versus actual).
- Coordinates and manages cross-functional teams internally and externally, including designers and engineers, technicians and subcontractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Design and Planning
- Reviews and provides technical inputs to the CSA design plans, specifications and drawings.
- Coordinates with architects, engineers and other stakeholders to integrate CSA requirements into overall building designs.
- Ensures designs comply with applicable codes, standards and regulations.
- Installation and Construction Oversight
- Manages the installation and construction of CSA systems on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinates with contractors closely to ensure the necessary materials and equipment are available on site when required as per project timeline and that they are used effectively.
- Conducts site inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues and verify quality of installations.
- Collaborates with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate schedules and resolve conflicts.
- First-of-kind (FOK) / Mock-up and Site Inspection
- Reviews and signs off FOK / mock-ups and inspections of CSA works to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Coordinates with contractors and stakeholders for QAQC and defects clearance before handover.
- Troubleshoots and resolves any operational issues that arise during construction and handover phases.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintains accurate records of project activities, including design changes, approvals and project progress.
- Prepares reports, presentations and documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Ensures all documentation complies with project requirements and industry standards.
- Qualifications :
- Diploma or Bachelor degree in civil engineering or related field.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in the Data Center (DC) .
- Proven experience as an site engineer or project manager in construction projects, with expertise in façade, architectural openings, waterproofing, interior finishes (walls, floors, ceilings) etc.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in EPC project. Age 35-45.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of DC technologies, regulations, Infrastructure, sequence of work, SOO, QA / QC, CxM, and EHS is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) tools.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Should have good understanding of DC project delivery cycle.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.) would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with construction industry standards and regulations.
- Should be familiar with local permitting process.
