Position Summary
This position is responsible for the full spectrum of Finance functions, including corporate finance, accounting, banking, treasury, taxation, audit, statutory reporting, and corporate secretarial matters for subsidiaries and group consolidation. The role is accountable for supervising daily financial operations, providing strategic insights to senior management through timely financial reports and analysis, ensuring compliance with audit, tax, and internal control requirements, and leading the development and execution of financial plans and policies to drive growth and profitability. Additionally, the position leads and develops the finance team to support effective financial management, equity transactions, and cross-departmental collaboration to meet organizational objectives.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee financial reporting, management accounting, and group consolidation in compliance with MFRS, ensuring timely submissions and financial analyses for CEO reports, board meetings, and Annual General Meetings.
Lead the finance team in managing general ledger, payables, receivables, and payroll efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, integrity, and achievement of departmental goals.
Coach, mentor, and develop finance team members to enhance technical competency, accountability, and teamwork, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with the company’s goals and values.
Provide financial insights through analysis and reporting on forecasts, budgets, receivables, payables, costing, expense trends, and cashflow to support effective financial planning and decision-making.
Develop, implement, and maintain sound financial accounting system, document standard operating procedures, corporate governance, and internal controls to minimize financial risks.
Ensure statutory compliance for audit, taxation, and related requirements by collaborating with auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors, company secretaries, and relevant authorities to meet all regulatory obligations.
Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, enhancing analytic capabilities, costing systems, and reporting transparency while promoting simplification and standardization across the organization.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and IT on operational issues and new projects to enhance processes, improve customer experience, drive growth, and strengthen overall profitability.
Support evaluation and implementation of corporate proposals, equity investments, fundraising, and portfolio governance to assess incubation performance and facilitate sound equity investment decisions.
Undertake additional responsibilities compatible with the job description and objectives as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, MIA / ACCA / MICPA, or any other professionally recognized qualifications.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, including managing a group of companies and a shared services setup; experience in investment portfolio management is a plus.
Proficiency in both Mandarin and English is required for this role.
Highly committed and capable of working independently with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a high level of integrity and ethical standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
Exceptional communication, management, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, accounting software such as Autocount, and databases.
