The Manager of NIC is responsible to lead and drive business strategy and end-to-end processes and operations related to numismatic currency products and precious metal bullions to ensure the Bank's numismatic mandates are executed robustly and in strict adherence to the established SOPsTo be filled by job owner / JMI.
Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia), is a statutory body which started operations on 26 January 1959. Bank Negara Malaysia is governed by the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 2009. The role of Bank Negara Malaysia is to promote monetary and financial stability. This is aimed at providing a conducive environment for the sustainable growth of the Malaysian economy.
Bank Negara Malaysia's monetary policy stance is to maintain price stability while remaining supportive of growth. Bank Negara Malaysia is also responsible for financial system stability. This is achieved by developing a sound, resilient, progressive and diversified financial sector which serves to support the sectors of the real economy. It also plays an important function in implementing initiatives to deepen and strengthen the financial markets, including the foreign exchange market.
Bank Negara Malaysia has played a significant developmental role in developing the financial system infrastructure in advancing the financial inclusion agenda. This is to ensure all economic sectors and segments of the society have access to financial services. In addition, Bank Negara Malaysia also oversees the nation's payment systems infrastructure which emphasize on the efficiency and security of the financial systems.
As the banker and adviser to the Government, Bank Negara Malaysia provides advice on macroeconomic policies and the management of public debt. Bank Negara Malaysia is also the sole authority in issuing the national currency and in managing the country's international reserves.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Commemorative Coin Issuances : Plan, drive and oversee the end-to-end processes for issuing new commemorative coins to ensure timely issuances that meet the Bank's and stakeholders' objectives. This includes leading the processes of obtaining Management Committee (MC) and Minister of Finance's approval for commemorative coin issuances, managing contractual obligations and relationship with outsourced partners, managing expectations and work collaboration with stakeholders as well as ensuring all public queries are timely resolved.
- Design Development and Integration with Production : Lead and champion the design development processes, including overseeing the Notes and Coins Advisory Committee (NCAC) and MC's deliberation processes as well as managing inputs from external stakeholders to be incorporated into the coin design. Oversee coordination work with the Fabrication and Production team to ensure the appropriate translation of the design concepts into technical specification suitable for minting processes.
- Kijang Emas Operations : Plan, drive and manage end-to-end operational processes related to Kijang Emas to ensure uninterrupted supply and retail distribution of the gold bullion coins. This includes overseeing the wholesale issuance of Kijang Emas and operational performance of the outsourced partner, managing timely and accurate stock reconciliation and system recording exercise as well as developing and / or improving the overall efficiencies and strategies for Kijang Emas ecosystem.
- Effective and Efficient Numismatic Work Processes : Oversee and manage manpower and budget resources, procedural manual management and cross sectional / departmental collaboration to ensure the section's primary mandates are optimally delivered. This includes leading the periodic review and development of relevant procedural manuals, implementation of suitable training programmes for staff as well as supervising adherence and alignment with the Bank's compliance standards and risk appetite.
- Inventory Management : Oversee the accurate recording and accounting entries of stock in the relevant systems on a timely basis, including disposal activities. This includes ensuring housekeeping of the vault / strong room areas assigned to NIC and accommodating requests for special sale and corporate gift as approved by Pengarah.
- Secretariat Lead for Notes and Coins Advisory Committee (NCAC) : Lead the coordination and secretarial work for NCAC to ensure effective and seamless discharge of the committee's roles. Part of the role includes recommending NCAC members for the consideration and approval by the Bank.
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Art and Design, Business Administration or equivalent.Experience :
