Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items for daily operation.
• Checks and prepares all mise en place in the section.
• Maintains cleanliness, hygiene and appearance of subordinates; keeps a clean, neat and organized work area.
• Checks daily function and events; requisitions items according to activities.
• Maintains professional records and ensures standards are met.
• Evaluates performance of the IRD staff.
• Participates in creative sessions.
• Minimizes wastage.
• Responsible for the production, preparation and presentation of all food items in his / her section to ensure high quality at all times.
• Directly supervises all subordinates in his / her section.
• Executes inspections of working areas in all food preparation areas in his / her section.
• Establishes and maintains effective employee relations and interdepartmental working relationships.
• Dates and rotates food containers as per policies; ensures perishables are kept at proper temperatures; checks pars for shift use; notes shortages; returns unused items to storage; covers / perishes appropriately; assists in controlling food costs and waste.
• Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
