Overview
Product Specialist role at Abbott. This position focuses on achieving sales targets, promoting AV products, and supporting clinical teams with product knowledge and technical data.
Responsibilities
- To ensure achievement of team and individual sales targets
- To make regular sales calls to related healthcare professionals (interventionists and cardiovascular lab staff) to promote AV products by providing detailed product information, technical specifications and latest clinical data
- To develop and implement effective sales plans in assigned territories in accordance with budgets, sales volumes, product mix and timelines
- Regularly review sales objectives and strategies according to the company’s objectives and policies
- To provide professional and technical advice to doctors / interventionists and cath. lab staff on PTCA cases – specifications and properties of AV products for various clinical scenarios
- Prepare sponsorship documents and organize assigned marketing activities (local and overseas medical congresses)
- Plan and organize teaching programs by local and foreign physicians in assigned accounts
- Organise and deliver product presentations to healthcare providers
- Implement marketing strategies and messages to promote and increase market share of assigned products
- Track implementation and market share in accounts
- Coordinate marketing programs and promotional campaigns as assigned
- Prepares annual volume (unit), ASP and market share forecasts, promotional activities and expense budgets
- Gather market and competitive information to prepare for product launches in the assigned territories
- Execute product launches and track success
- Monitor territory performance and market share, provide feedback and propose action on sales issues (pricing, positioning, activities)
- Stay informed of competitors’ activities and keep the company updated
- Propose entry strategies into new accounts and keep abreast of new hospital / cath lab openings
- Propose consignment levels of inventory in assigned accounts and regularly review stock levels
- Monitor product usage and ensure products are replenished; ensure necessary documentation is completed through to billing
- Coordinate with purchasing departments to ensure prompt billing
- Work with sub-distributors, if any, to ensure prompt reporting of usages
- Conduct regular stock checks in labs and trace product usage in case of discrepancies
- Check product expiry dates and rotate stock as needed
- Handle product complaints promptly in accordance with AV’s policies
- Lead projects as assigned by the direct reporting manager
- Ensure full compliance with corporate policies and procedures
