Safety Health Officer ( SHO )

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor Workplace Safety : Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards. Recommend and implement corrective / preventive measures.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and other applicable safety and health regulations. Liaise with DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, and other regulatory bodies when required.
• Safety Policies & Procedures : Develop and enforce company safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Update documentation in line with changes to laws or site conditions.
• Training & Awareness : Organize and conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, induction programs, and emergency drills. Educate staff on safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Incident Investigation : Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. Produce reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Documentation & Reporting : Maintain records of inspections, incidents, audits, training, and PPE issuance. Prepare periodic safety reports for management review.
• Emergency Preparedness : Develop and implement emergency response plans. Ensure first aid kits and fire safety equipment are in place and functional.
