Welfare Officer

Overview

To perform the means test and psychosocial assessment of patients. To perform periodic reviews of patients’ psychosocial status, including patient-reported outcome measurements. To provide counselling for patients and families facing problems. To support and improve the dialysis patients\' interacting financial, psychological, and social conditions that can impact outcomes, well-being, and social functioning. To improve patients’ well-being through networking with government agencies, NGOs, and community resources. To be responsible for implementing welfare-related interventions, programmes, and activities with the patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform means testing and psychosocial assessments of patients.
• Conduct periodic reviews of psychosocial status, including patient-reported outcome measurements.
• Provide counselling to patients and families facing problems.
• Support and improve dialysis patients\' financial, psychological, and social conditions that can impact outcomes, well-being, and social functioning.
• Improve patients’ well-being by networking with government agencies, NGOs, and community resources.
• Implement welfare-related interventions, programmes, and activities with the patients.

Qualifications

About NKF

National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF) is an NGO that operates 28 dialysis centres which provide care to 1,700 patients nationwide, with over 400 staff.
