Field Service Engineer (based in Johor)

As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your interpersonal skills, creativity and can-do attitude is critical. The ability to help solve customer problems and a dedication to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to building customer success. You will support our customers with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions. Our varied product lines include hardware, software, and networking products as well as operating systems. Job Requirement : Meet Agilent-approved customer / vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. Territory Details : The ideal candidate will reside within in Johor and will travel across the south of Malaysia i.e. Melaka / Kuantan. Territory travel will include coverage across the South of Malaysia and if required to East Coast Malaysia. Able to travel up to 80% of the time. Responsibilities will include : Installs and optimizes hardware / software / network products and configurations at customer sites for Chromatography Systems. Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems. Performs maintenance and repairs. Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance. Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business. Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software. May train other field engineers and customers on the solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Science field (e.g., Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or similar), or relevant work experience. 0-2+ years of experience in a similar position or as an end-user. Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving. Experience with chromatography systems such as Liquid Chromatography (LC), Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), Gas Chromatography (GC), and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), either as an end-user or in field service, is required. Experience with UV-Vis and FTIR is a plus. Experience with Agilent solutions is desired but not essential. Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication skills. Must enjoy visiting customers, and that may have occasional overnight stays if needed Travel requirement : Must be available for up to 80% which includes overnight travel, and may not be limited to travel within the territory to support clients. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
