Responsibilities

Develop and enhance Java-based applications, while also exploring modern languages such as Kotlin and Golang.
Contribute to data analytics initiatives, building services that integrate with tools like HBase and Apache Phoenix.
Collaborate closely with global teams across Malaysia, the UK, and the US, including Product Owners, Data Engineers, and QA specialists.
Participate in the end-to-end software development cycle : requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and release.
Apply performance tuning techniques to optimize large-scale, cloud-native platforms.
Ensure software quality through code reviews, testing, and thorough documentation.
Work with streaming and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka) to support real-time data flows.
Monitor system health and performance using cloud-native observability tools.

Requirements

Recent graduate with strong project / internship work OR up to 3–4 years’ hands-on development experience.

Proficiency in Java backend or server-side development.

Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.

Comfortable coding in a Linux-based environment.

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins or similar).

Understanding of how software integrates across different systems.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.

Exposure to frameworks and tools such as Spring, Kafka Streams, OpenAPI, or Golang.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container platforms.

Demonstrated skills from academic projects, internships, or hackathons.

Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in teams.

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
