Senior Manager, License Management (Malaysia, India)

Job descriptionManage the Function’s preparedness for and response to audits, including reviewing the adequacy of management response to audit findings. Manage external vendor software audits from end to end and act as primary liaison point. Manage pro‑active internal compliance reviews from end to end. Obtain usage and entitlement data to establish position and drive clean‑up activities. Provide accurate and timely management summaries of progress to stakeholders as required. Own and drive transition of operational ownership of licence management activities between teams within the department, support and drive software clean‑up activities across the organisation as required. Serve as subject matter expert and provide leadership for license management programme of works, processes, tools and collaboration across SCB. Review Licensing Terms and Contractual Obligations. Review High / Medium / Low Risk Business Application and approve High Risk request usage request. Prepare and generate license compliance report, dashboard, metric with data analysis. Maintain trending dashboard and Business Application reporting. Responsible for producing accurate reports and metrics to facilitate business decisions and support operational activities. Demonstrate awareness in self‑development, while building key capabilities in team members to improve operational effectiveness and capability. Manage change by adapting to new situations and requirements, keeping things under control during periods of rapid change. Manage and motivate team members. Drive initiatives across teams. Confident and self‑motivated with experience in effectively negotiating with and influencing others in a matrix environment. Operate across a wide range of seniority levels, functional divides, locations and businesses. Create and tailor clear and concise verbal and written communications to different audiences, fluent in written and spoken English. Demonstrable analytical thinking. Attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy of output. Proven track record of quality deliverables within tight schedules. Alignment of team goals and priorities with corporate business strategy. Ability to organise work effectively and manage a broad portfolio of work effectively. Identify and mitigate risks associated with non‑compliance, including potential legal and financial repercussions. Stay updated on licensing laws and regulations to ensure organisational compliance. Raise request to managers of requesters to acknowledge any non‑standard terms (risks) found in the agreement. Perform risk assessment and highlight to Risk & Control on license non‑compliance for proper risk ownership of remediation responsibility. Responsibilities relating to the direction, planning, structure, frameworks (e.g., processes and policies) and oversight. For example, responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas. Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. Effectively and collaboratively identify, elevate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Collaborate with stakeholders to align and deliver key objectives. Organise work and manage a broad portfolio of work effectively. Articulate the requirement and importance of Software License Management and gain buy‑in from senior stakeholders. Adapt to new situations and requirements, keeping things under control during periods of rapid change. Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Malaysia / Technology & Architecture Team. Minimum 6‑8 years of experience with software licensing models and management. Highly analytical, strong in complex license compliance reporting. Practical experience managing a Software asset or license management programme for a global firm. Familiarity with software license management principles, license calculation methodologies, end‑to‑end software license management process, discovery tools and inventory management products. Automation related skill set e.g., SQL, Power Query, DevOps, Java, SharePoint. Reporting tool related skill set e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Python, Microsoft Excel. Education : Bachelor of Science, IT related field. Training : ITIL Foundation Training, CSAM, ServiceNow SAM Pro. Certifications : ITIL Foundation, Certified Software Asset Manager, Certified Risk Professional. Languages : English. This role is responsible to perform the software license compliance and governance activities (across desktop, server and business applications). He / She will need to be well‑versed in license compliance to ensure accurate and timely reporting to avoid legal and financial risks associated with non‑compliance.
