Job Overview
The Principal Proposals Specialist is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex proposals‑related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. They may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and are regarded as a specialist in the field of proposals. In this role they must have in‑depth expertise in proposals as well as broad knowledge of the proposals discipline within the commercial function.
Responsibilities
- General Corporate Responsibilities
Liaise with and support the Corporate Audit function for annual Business Line proposal related audits
Provide departmental strategic initiatives and support the monthly Proposals Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting process to EXCOMBusiness Line ResponsibilitiesResponsible for preparation and timely submission of all assigned tenders with Proposals and Senior Proposals Specialists
Coordinate workload and resource allocation with Proposal ManagerMonitor appropriate coordination activities of Proposals and Senior Proposals SpecialistsProvide bid action list close‑out and documentationCo‑chair bid kick‑off meetings and schedule progress meetings as requiredEnsure basis of bid and bid inputs align with strategy and customer requirementsOversee bid submission and subsequent clarificationsManage and facilitate bid delivery meetings, review process, presentations, and associated actionsMonitor the progress of the bidding activity to ensure deliverables are successfully achieved for bid submissionDevelop and ensure challenge skills are integrated throughout the bid review processAssist with client negotiationsDevelop Lessons Learned for bid submissions and the bid process for wider cascade to the business via the Estimating and Proposals Managers and required close‑out actions if anyAccountable for the financial and technical success of the bid or area of bid responsibilityQualifications
7 years of Bids & Proposals experienceAbility to work as a team member as well as act as team leaderMaintain key competencies associated with the Proposals functionAbility to effectively communicate with team members and managementWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)Strong background in FPSO / Floating Facilities project and / or bidding experience is preferredAbout Us
