Overview
A Day in Your Life at MKS : A Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team supporting manufacturing of high power plasma products in our Penang, Malaysia facility. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for transferring, installing, and improving build processes for remote plasma source and ozone products. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through rigorous analysis and providing your team with the necessary tools and mentorship to document and analyze manufacturing issues. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support new model introductions and continuous improvement initiatives. Under your leadership, the team will excel in creating efficient and consistent processes for transitioning new products from the NPI center to high-volume production.
You Will Make an Impact By
- Establish manufacturing processes for current model and new model introductions, including estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, and making recommendations for tooling and process improvements
- Use Lean techniques (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Kaizen, SMED) to refine and streamline production processes for new and existing products
- Use problem solving tools and statistical techniques to understand anomalies, identify causes, and drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with quality, production operations, design engineering, supply chain, and others to identify and resolve product and performance issues
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and develop a Lean Manufacturing culture throughout the manufacturing, assembly, and local suppliers
- Coordinate the transfer of NPI products and legacy high-volume production processes into international and / or regional production facilities across MKS's global footprint
- Interact with site leadership, key customers, and / or peer department managers as needed on business process development and problem solving

Skills You Bring
Bachelor of Science in (IE / ME) with 7+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience5+ years of experience leading teams involving project management, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvementExperienced in manufacturing tooling and processes to develop line layouts, capacity planning models, training programs, and status reportingAbility to select, develop, and grow an advanced manufacturing engineering team to engage and support the operations teams in their LEAN manufacturing & continuous Improvement journeysEffectively communicate and collaborate with site leadership, key customers, and peer department managers to drive business process development and resolve issuesWorking Conditions
