ChampionXKuala Lumpur, Selangor , MYSChampionX has an immediate need for a Senior Chemist located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a Senior Chemist at ChampionX, you will play a crucial role in the development, optimization and application of production chemical solutions to Oil and Gas customers. What You will do :
Contribute to technical support, product development and selection - conduct discussions with internal and / or external requestors, scope project, execute laboratory or field testing, write technical reports and present recommendations.
Conduct laboratory testing to develop, select or evaluate product performance, secondary properties and compatibilities.
Support technical meetings and provide technical trainings to internal and external stakeholders.
Provide technical support to field operations both remotely and onsite. This may include troubleshooting of chemical related issues, conducting product selection and evaluation, performing system reviews and / or executing field trials.
Develop an understanding of ChampionX’s product range with a view to assist in the development of ChampionX product lines. Identify and evaluate new materials and / or commercially available products to improve the cost and performance of existing products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams regionally and globally to develop solutions to customers’ challenges, research on new technologies, roll-out new developments and / or optimize internal processes.
Implement and follow the company’s safety policy (Goal Zero) and procedures. Update laboratory test procedures and safety related documents where necessary.
Support the maintenance of the day-to-day operations in the laboratory. Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained.
Take a professional approach to self-development. Identify appropriate training opportunities.
Any other task that may reasonably be requested.
Minimum Requirements
Degree or Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Degree or advanced degree with minimum 5 years related experience.
Preferred Requirements
Previous experience of working with oilfield chemical related projects
Previous experience of working in a laboratory
Previous experience of managing day-to-day projects
Good computer skills, must have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Good oral and written communication skills, speak and write English
Job Requirements
Primarily laboratory and office based
Field work will be required
Ability to travel overseas
May require long periods of standing conducting experiments in a laboratory or travel to visit the field
