The individual would fulfill the role of S enior Geotechnical Engineer-Maritime on maritime engineering projects, exhibiting strong technical skills and team participation to help drive projects toward successful completion. You will report day-to-day operations to the Team Leader of Ports & Maritime, Malaysia and will report to the Technical Director of Ports & Maritime.

The work would be principally based in our design office and key responsibilities will include

• Geotechnical analysis and design
• data gathering and interpretation
• specification and interpretation of ground investigation
• FE modelling (Plaxis or similar)
• Calculations, Design drawings, and Technical report writing
• Specifications for construction and technical presentations to clients and in-house.
• The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate most of the following skills and knowledge such as ;
• In-depth capability in geotechnical modelling, analysis and design of earth retaining structures (for quay walls), piles (for jetties), slope stability (for revetments, breakwaters), settlement and bearing capacity analysis (for reclamations)
• Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and performing engineering calculations, preparing design drawings
• Able to build a team of young engineer and lead them for future growth
• Onshore geotechnical works experience would be an added advantage

Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.
