Logistics Technician

Overview

As a Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT), you will perform cycle audits, execute incoming / outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors, and document inbound and outbound deliveries. Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks and escalate issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations.
• Coordinate with suppliers to initiate warranty claims and process failed vendor hardware devices, including information processing, packaging, shipment, and receipt of return for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices following all SLAs.
• Leverage process knowledge and best judgment to complete tasks with minimal direct supervision.
• Maintain a strong focus to understand the impact of their work when completing tickets and IAM tasks.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate information within inventory management systems (e.g., configuration management databases, asset management repositories).
• Ensure detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.
• Help reconcile and report inventory discrepancies.
• Perform destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following SLAs and Microsoft policies as necessary.
• Notify management about stock shortages and escalate issues as needed.
• Comply with security and data management policies.
