ACCOUNTANT

Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Talent Specialist specializing in Recruiting and Talent Management at SMH Rail Group Key Responsibilities : Manage full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax filings. Oversee cost accounting processes, including product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis. Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor asset depreciation. Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities. Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies. Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts; monitor actual performance against budgets. Support financial planning and strategic decision-making through financial modeling and analysis. Assist in ERP system upgrades or transitions and ensure proper integration of financial data. Lead or support finance projects, process improvements, and system automation initiatives. Qualifications & Requirements : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification : ACCA or CIMA is mandatory. Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing finance operations. Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). Strong understanding of IFRS or local GAAP. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and lead a small accounting team. Working location will be in RASA, HULU SELANGOR. Seniority level
