Overview
The Workplace IT Security Engineer (Endpoint) is responsible for endpoint security, implementation and maintenance of enterprise-level Workplace IT security solutions. The key focus is to develop security-related workflows, processes and automation procedures. He / She should be able to work with the Cyber Security team and proactively identify gaps, risks and issues, and remain current with new security technologies, recommending changes or actions to management as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Provide escalated troubleshooting and support for Workplace IT security technologies, native and third-party security and endpoint management tools.
- Provide capacity planning and performance monitoring to sustain and improve mobility service availability.
- Ensure thorough testing of solutions for functionality and compatibility.
- Coordinate service and support needs with vendors, application support teams, and internal teams through partnership and communication.
- Provide change request leadership for deployment of application or infrastructure changes.
- Participate in application troubleshooting and security incident problem resolution with other infrastructure teams.
- Represent the team in change, incident and problem management calls and manage request queues.
- Maintain and define hardware, software, and configuration standards (operational Runbooks and Playbooks).
- Partner with other Product Infrastructure teams to apply standards and policies for operational excellence.
- Manage hardening of endpoint device configurations using group policy, file permissions and access controls.
- Provide leadership for major upgrades and new product onboarding deployments in Endpoint Security.
- Support ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Skills for Success
Degree / Diploma in IT, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.3–4 years of experience in endpoint security; exposure to tools such as Microsoft Defender, Splunk, CrowdStrike is a plus.Exposure to Microsoft Intune is a plus.Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server technologies and Proxy.Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Exchange, O365, SCCM, File and Print services.Experience using ServiceNow.Basic network knowledge including DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and network load-balancing.Experience with Internet Proxy servers and backup software.Fundamental understanding of MobileIron, Intune, TCP / IP, SMTP, HTTP; troubleshooting.Details
