Overview
The position is responsible to oversee an assigned area of production operations with the aim that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in an efficient manner by consistently planning to optimize available resources.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains safe, healthy and good housekeeping of workplace by promoting, encouraging and enforcing safe work practices in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Adheres to all quality system requirements as well as ensuring that production processes consistently deliver products of maximum quality in accordance to customers' expectations, requirements and standards.
- Plans and organizes resources such as manpower, direct and indirect material, machines (and spare parts) as well as preventive maintenance for smooth daily operations of the respective production lines / units in a cost‑effective manner.
- Monitors and closely follows up on daily production orders by efficiently planning and scheduling production activities in accordance to priority.
- Responsible for first level problem solving, finding immediate solutions or escalating promptly operational and workplace issues such as machine breakdowns, manpower shortage, delays and workplace harmony.
- Provides clear work direction and expectation to direct reports / line leaders to ensure efficient and effective workflows including but not limited to ensuring smooth shift transition.
- Communicates company policies and procedures, supervises and educates direct reports related to basic labor legislation, workplace discipline, work performance and on‑the‑job‑training from time to time.
- Collaborates closely with HR business partner in matters related to hiring, disciplinary management and developing employees under respective supervision.
Job Requirements
Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in science, operations, manufacturing or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment.
Diploma in science, operations, manufacturing or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment.Behavioral SkillsAdaptable with a 'safety first' mindset and quality conscience.
Positive attitude driven by core values with ability to cooperate and work effectively to achieve common goals. Ability to guide, motivate and develop subordinates.Eagerness to learn, proactiveness with positive attitude to challenge status‑quo, cooperative and work effectively to achieve common goals & results.Good team player plus ability to work independently, delegate tasks where necessary and close follow‑up on action items to meet deadlines.Able to work well under pressure in dealing with urgency of business requirement.Technical SkillsAbility to comprehend and apply safety requirements and ongoing work hazards identification i.e. LOTO, rolling object & stacking.
Good knowledge and understanding of product, process specification and parameter.Basic to intermediate skills in MS applications i.e. Excel, PowerBI.Good interpersonal and communication skills (both BM & ENG) with all levels of people.Basic knowledge in ISO9001 and / or related quality standard.Basic knowledge in Malaysian Labor Law, CA etc.Physical RequirementsPhysically fit.
