Overview

LABUAN REINSURANCE (L) LTD is one of the largest recognizable local reinsurance companies with 35 years history backed by 11 major corporate shareholders. The Company is now offering individuals placement under our Management Trainee Program (MTP) beginning in October 2025 to support university graduates’ capacity building and talent development for the Company and Insurance Industry.

Minimum Bachelor’s degree graduates of at least Second Upper Class, or GPA 3.00 above in Insurance, Risk Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or Professional Qualification(s). Graduates with two years or less working experience can be considered.

Please note that selection is NOT based solely on good academic results but on good participation in extra-curriculum activities. We prefer candidates who are communicative, extrovert and detailed conscious. Good and fluent English language is a MUST since we are a global reinsurer. Ability to speak Japanese, Korean or Mandarin is a plus for our business partners located at Northern Asia.

2. Duration

From OCTOBER 2025 to SEPTEMBER 2026. 12 months, with job rotation within the host department.

3. Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a thorough selection process i.e., written test, personality profiling, presentation on a given topic, and panel interview.

4. Host Department

a) Underwriting Department – based in Kuala Lumpur

• Exposure to Conventional / Re-takaful / Facultative underwriting in administrating and preparing underwriting statistics for the relevant markets (all regions). This includes learning about pre-underwriting treaty risks.
• Understanding and assisting backend reinsurance support on the treaty and facultative contracts.
• Increase capabilities in using data as part of business intelligence analytics.

b) Finance Department – based in Kuala Lumpur

c) Claims & Retrocession Recovery Department – based in Kuala Lumpur
