Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties such as design, preparation, and development of teaching materials; conduct classes / lectures, tutorials, and practicals; consultation with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment.
- Participate and contribute to high-quality programme and curriculum development
- Plan and implement teaching strategies to optimise student learning as well as to motivate them.
- Support in research project work and scholarship of postgraduate students
- Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s teaching and learning expectations.
Research
Participate in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentations, journal publications, and relevant community work.Support efforts to secure grants for research activities and scholarships as co-researcher.Achieve the specified set of research outcome targets for the Senior Lecturer level of appointment.Administration and Other Activities
Undertake and contribute to administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, and working groups within the Department, School, and FacultyParticipate in continuous relevant professional activitiesAssist in establishing linkages with external organisations / professional bodies in academic-related mattersRequirements
Possess a Master Degree or Doctoral Degree in Emergency Medicine (or equivalent) from a reputable institution with at least three (3) years of relevant teaching experience.Possess an undergraduate in medicine (MBBS or equivalent) with a full registration and Annual Practitioners Certificate from the Malaysian Medical CouncilPossession of an NSR registration in Emergency Medicine would be an advantagePreferably with h-index 4Graduated at least 1 Master Degree studentPublished 4 papers in in C.I. journal (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 yearsSecured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM75,000 - RM100,000Graduated at least 1 Master Degree studentExperience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record ofprofessional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skillsExperience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learningExperience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice / consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputsDemonstrated links to relevant external organisations and / or the professionThe final position offered will depend on the seniority of the candidate taking into consideration teaching, clinical and research strengths.
