Our client is a fast-evolving solar energy provider, recently acquired by a diversified group with strong regional presence. With a sharpened focus on commercial & industrial (C&I) solar and large-scale solar farms, the company is undergoing transformation and is poised for rapid expansion.
Job Description
As General Manager - Commercial Solar Solutions, you will be responsible for leading the sales function across C&I and utility-scale solar projects. You\'ll drive business development, lead a capable sales team, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure commercial success.
- Lead and manage the sales team to achieve revenue targets across C&I and solar farm segments
- Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to commercial and industrial clients
- Identify and secure new business opportunities including corporate PPAs, government tenders, and large-scale solar projects
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with developers, EPC contractors, and financial institutions
- Oversee sales pipeline development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
- Collaborate with technical, operations, and finance teams to ensure project feasibility and profitability
- Mentor and develop the sales team, fostering a high-performance, target-driven culture
- Monitor key sales metrics (conversion rates, project margins, customer acquisition cost) and adjust strategies accordingly
- Stay abreast of regulatory frameworks (NEM, FIT, GSPA, SEDA) and ensure compliance in all sales activities
- Present regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and market expansion plans to senior leadership
- Support marketing initiatives that directly contribute to lead generation and brand visibility in the C&I solar space
The Successful Applicant
We\'re looking for a strategic sales leader with a deep understanding of Malaysia\'s C&I solar market and a proven ability to drive commercial success.
Bachelor\'s / Master\'s in Business, Engineering (Renewable Energy), or related field10+ years in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the solar or renewable energy sectorDemonstrated success in selling C&I solar and managing large-scale solar projectsStrong understanding of Malaysia\'s solar market, including NEM, GSPA, and SEDA regulationsProven ability to build and manage B2B client relationships and strategic partnershipsExperience in solar project financial modeling and commercial feasibility analysisStrong leadership, mentoring, and team development skillsWhat\'s on Offer
