Position : Resident Engineer (Senior 2 Vacancy / Junior 3 Vacancy)

Work Base : Kuala Lumpur

Employment Type : Contract (12 Months)

Primary Objective :

Deliver on-site technical support and engineering services for banking IT systems in collaboration with a telecommunications partner, ensuring optimal system performance, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities

On-site Infrastructure Support – Manage servers, networks, security appliances; troubleshoot, patch, upgrade, and maintain high system availability.
Telecom-System Integration – Support Telco services integration (MPLS, leased lines, mobile connectivity).
Incident & Problem Management – Act as on-site SPOC, resolve issues quickly, conduct RCA, and prepare reports.
Change & Release Support – Coordinate upgrades and changes, ensure SLAs are met with minimal disruption.
Monitoring & Proactive Maintenance – Use tools (SNMP, SolarWinds) for monitoring, perform preventive maintenance and trend analysis.
Security Compliance – Apply security policies, ensure compliance with PCI DSS and audit requirements.
Documentation & Reporting – Maintain technical docs (network diagrams, configs, logs) and provide regular status updates.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.

3–5 years of enterprise IT support experience (banking / financial services preferred).

Networking : LAN / WAN, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, Telco services; CCNA / CCNP is an advantage.

Systems & Virtualization : Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware (vSphere / vCenter), Veeam.

Security & Compliance : Firewall management, endpoint protection (Trend Micro / FortiGate), SSL, PCI DSS.

Incident & ITIL : Knowledge of ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management.

Tools & Automation : Monitoring tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds), scripting (Python / PowerShell / Ansible) is a plus.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Able to work under pressure, handle escalations, and adapt to banking security needs.

Job Type : Contract

Contract length : 12 months

Pay : RM4, RM5,000.00 per month
