With their aggressive strategies and innovation, they are currently looking for a Chief Operating Officer to lead their business in Malaysia and help drive transformation.
Job Description
As the COO, you will lead and oversee all commercial and operational aspects of the manufacturing plant, including people management and strategic projects. This role carries full P&L responsibility and is accountable for the overall success and growth of the business. Among the many responsibilities some are listed below :
- Holding full P&L responsibility & Annual Budget preparation besides overseeing other departments like Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, HR etc
- Develop and execute the company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and stakeholders
- Planning, coordinating, directing and supervising the entire day-to-day operations of production, maintenance, quality and deliveries.
- Organizing and managing conditions of production to meet production and organizational goals.
- Provide strategic advice to the board and senior management so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company's future
- Plan cost-effective operations and market development activities
- Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated
- Maintain trusting relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
- Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating a safe and efficient working environment.
- Ensure all products are produced within customers formula specifications and quality control standard
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be confident in leading the business and steering the company to the most profitable position while implementing its vision, mission and long term goals. It's critical you have an all rounded experience in operations, supply chain, commercial and financial acumen and must possess the requirements below :
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Professional Degree in Engineering
- At least 20 years of experience in managing a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including 3-5 years in a senior leadership role such as MD, CEO, COO, or General Manager. Prior experience in chemical manufacturing is highly preferred
- Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
- Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
- Excellent organisational, communication (English & BM) & interpersonal skills
- Active leadership skills, good team player and able to be hands on whenever needed to
