JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary responsibility is to build and manage an integrated content strategy and working with media in delivering news and dissemination of corporate communications to enhance EPF’s reputation and effectively convey message to various stakeholders.
Secondary role is to work in tandem and provide support to the other sections and units.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Content And Editorial Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive editorial strategy aligned with the EPF’s goals and values.
- Write and oversee the creation, editing, and approval of high‑quality content for press releases, articles, reports, speeches, and other key messages of senior management.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather information and insights on upcoming corporate announcements, such as financial quarterly and annual results, executive appointments, product launches, mergers, etc.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across EPF’s publications and communications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information and create narratives that highlight corporate initiatives, achievements, and perspectives. Ensure consistent framing of messages between internal and external communications.
- Manage the content calendar and ensure timely production and distribution of editorial materials.
- Coordinate the review and approval process for corporate announcements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining confidentiality when necessary.
2. Media Relations
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, editors, journalists to promote positive media coverage.Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate responses to press requests.Monitor media coverage and analyse trends to inform media strategies and identify opportunities for proactive engagement.Collaborating with the corporate marketing team and appointed agencies to ensure consistent messaging across all media channels.Prepare and support company spokespeople for media interviews, including media training and the development of key messaging.3. Strategic Planning and Leadership
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute corporate communication strategies that support EPF’s objectives.Provide guidance and mentorship to the Editorial and Media Relations team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance work environment.Monitor industry trends and best practices in corporate communications, editorial content, and media relations to keep the EPF at the forefront of effective communication strategies.Develop and manage budgets for Editorial and Media Relations activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.4. Crisis Communications and Business Continuity
Lead crisis communication efforts, including the development of crisis communication plans and protocols.Act swiftly and effectively to manage communications both internal and external during crises, minimising negative impact on EPF’s reputation.Represent the department as Crisis Management Support Team (CMST) and in charge of drafting and updating Department BCP and Plan Information Review.Provides BCM quarterly / yearly Activity Status Report, conducts periodical departmental BCM Tutorial / Awareness / Walkthrough / Call Tree, and manages department’s War ChestInvolved in yearly crisis simulation organised by the Risk Department to observe EPF branches’ and offices’ communications readiness in cases of emergencies and crisis.5. Process Owner for Objektif Kualiti and Pensijilan Skop MS ISO 9001 : 2015
Act as department’s liaison for Objektif Kualiti and Skop Pensijilan MS ISO 9001 : 2015 for process Maklum Balas Pelanggan Melalui Media – ensure that all processes, documentation, risk factor and controls are updated for the purpose of ISO certification audit by SIRIM.Involved in yearly internal and external audit for the re‑certification of the MS ISO 9001 : 2015.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Malaysian citizen.Obtain a pass in Bahasa Melayu, including an oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Mass Communications, Public Relation, Media or any related background which is recognised by the Malaysian Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution.At least 10 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or editorial management. Proven experience in developing and executing media strategies and managing media relations.Exceptional skills in writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with keen eye for detail.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with media professionals, internal and external stakeholders.Experience managing a team and fostering a positive and productive work environment.Proficiency in using communication and content management tools and platforms.PLACEMENT
