Overview
The Key Account Manager – Sephora will lead the strategic partnership between Kens Apothecary and Sephora Malaysia, overseeing a portfolio of high-performing prestige beauty brands. This role is responsible for end-to-end account management—including commercial strategy, business development, performance analytics, and stakeholder relationship management—to drive sustained growth, maximize sell-through, and enhance brand presence across all Sephora retail channels (offline & e-commerce).
This is a role requiring strong cross-functional leadership, a deep understanding of retail dynamics in the beauty sector, and proven success in managing major retail partners in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Management & Business Growth
Own the full P&L responsibility for assigned brands within Sephora.
Develop and execute annual business plans and account strategies aligned with brand goals and Sephora’s commercial calendar.Drive revenue and profitability through effective planning, forecasting, and commercial execution.Retailer Relationship ManagementAct as the primary liaison between Kens Apothecary and Sephora Malaysia, ensuring open, timely, and collaborative communication.
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers across Sephora’s Buying, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Education teams.Monitor sell-in, sell-through, and stock levels on a weekly / monthly basis, ensuring demand and supply alignment.Analyze sales performance by SKU, channel, and campaign; proactively identify risks and opportunities.Recommend actionable strategies to optimize performance and achieve KPIs.Marketing & Promotional ExecutionCollaborate with internal marketing teams and Sephora to plan, execute, and evaluate 360° campaigns—online and offline.
Ensure all marketing activities are aligned with brand positioning and achieve measurable outcomes in terms of reach, engagement, and conversion.Coordinate the launch strategy for new products including allocations, visibility, and communications.Inventory & MerchandisingPartner with Demand Planning to develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Work closely with Sephora’s Merchandising and Visual teams to ensure consistent and premium in-store and online presentation.Minimize stock-outs and overstock situations through continuous tracking and real-time adjustments.Training & EducationDeliver high-impact training to Sephora Beauty Advisors (BAs) to drive product knowledge, brand affinity, and conversion.
Ensure frontline teams are well-equipped with updated information, training materials, and tools to drive brand advocacy.Commercial & Contractual ManagementLead negotiation of trade terms, margins, marketing support, and contractual agreements with Sephora.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external partner expectations.Conduct regular business reviews and make recommendations to enhance efficiency and ROI.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.Minimum 3 years of experience in Key Account Management or Retail Sales, preferably in beauty, luxury, or FMCG sectors .Strong knowledge of Sephora’s business model , retail operations, and digital commerce ecosystem.Proven track record in developing retail strategies and driving commercial success.Strong negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills.Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with global brand principals.Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) and CRM / reporting platforms.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.#J-18808-Ljbffr
