Job description

Job Target :

To design, evaluation and deployment of jigs / equipment / automation. Job scope will also include improvement to current jigs in terms of design and jigs / equipment / automation maintenance method.

Job Designation :

Design and evaluate jigs / equipment / automation equipment according to specifications (user requirements).

Fully understand user requirements and further refine the specification and guide sub-ordinate during information gathering.

Lead and advise designs that can satisfy the basic functions (operation, safety, durability, and maintainability) of jigs / equipment / automation equipment.

Research any suitable technologies, materials, processes to apply in jigs / equipment / automation design.

Create a document related to the jig, group progress and presentation to managers.

Prepares and manage jig / equipment / automation maintenance plan and parts.

Find improvement points for the existing jigs / equipment / automation and propose and execute the improvements plan.

Create evaluation procedure for jigs / equipment / automation design before handover to production.

Create work schedules and proactively monitor the schedule to achieve the dateline.

Create reports to share with related departments.

Improve fixed workflows and manuals. Create new manual / guidelines for any job related as guidance for others.

Implement PDCA cycle in all activity done.

Performs a variety of tasks assigned by superior.

Responsible to raise Purchase Requisition (PR) or Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) if assigned by superior as authorized member.

Participate in company Quality, Cost and Delivery improvements activity.

Gathers data quantifying process efficiency, analyses and recommends design improvement that can be achieved.

Able to do ad-hoc rework process on jig / equipment / automation.

Job Requirement :

Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Product Design, Mechanical Engineering - Manufacturing, Mechatronics and other related Engineering courses.

Preferable 1 year engineering related experience, with exposure to mechanical design, automation design and process improvement functions in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge in manufacturing process such as plastic injection molding, sheet metal forming and any other processes.

Experienced on analytical method, eg DOE, FMEA, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, etc. is preferred.

Knowledge in Statistical Process Control and any statistical tools. Good technical skills and excellent analytical thinker. Skilled in computer technology and knowledge in Microsoft Office. Able to use any CAD software and make engineering drawing.

Be effectively bilingual in English and Malay with superior communication. Ability to communicate in Japanese is an added advantage.
