Key responsibilities

As an Assistant Procurement Manager , you will play a critical role in driving procurement excellence across our contract logistics operations in Malaysia. Your responsibilities will include :

Strategic Procurement Leadership : Optimize procurement spend across contract logistics categories, ensuring cost leadership and value creation.

Project Management : Lead and execute procurement projects using Maersk’s Six Sourcing Steps methodology, managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables across multiple regions.

Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with global procurement teams and internal stakeholders to align strategies and share best practices.

Framework Development : Design and implement procurement frameworks for contract logistics and real estate, focusing on compliance, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

Market Intelligence : Conduct supplier market analysis, gather competitive intelligence, and benchmark costs to maintain a strong market position.

Supplier Relationship Management : Build and nurture strategic supplier partnerships to drive innovation, reliability, and long-term value.

Risk & Issue Resolution : Act as the escalation point for procurement-related disputes, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to digital procurement transformation initiatives.

Travel : Occasional travel may be required.

We’re looking for

We’re seeking a resilient, solution-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate will have :

• Around 5 years of experience in procurement, with hands-on knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) systems.
• Experience in warehousing, distribution, or landside transportation is a strong advantage.
• Proven expertise in supplier relationship management, contract management, and supply chain operations.
• Familiarity with digital procurement tools and platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Agile mindset with customer-centric approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated success in leading complex sourcing projects.
• High integrity and commitment to compliance.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
