Job description
We are looking for a Pupil-in-Chambers or long-term Intern (minimum 6 months) who views this not as a filler stint but as the beginning of a career in law. If you are serious about building a foundation in corporate and commercial practice, and ready to learn by doing rather than just observing, this may be the right place for you.
This role is hands-on. You will not be running errands or limited to proofreading. You will be trained to think and work like a practising lawyer, with exposure to the standards, discipline, and client interaction that come with the profession.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with drafting and research for corporate and commercial transactions including shareholder agreements joint ventures, service contracts, and governance frameworks.
- Supporting due diligence exercises, structuring, and transaction implementation.
- Preparing notes, submissions, and filings for corporate, real estate, and contentious matters.
- Learning the foundations of company secretarial work including incorporations, board resolutions, filings, AGMs, and regulatory oversight.
- Gaining exposure to licensing applications such as Labuan FSA approvals and SC licensing matters, together with regulatory advisory work.
- Joining client meetings and internal strategy sessions so you understand the context of the work, not just the paperwork.
- Contributing to firm development through legal briefings, knowledge notes, proposals, and research that supports client engagement.
