Job Summary
The Retail Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining store presentation, and assisting in daily sales operations. This role ensures that guests and customers have a pleasant shopping experience by delivering product knowledge, efficient service, and a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products or gifts.
Provide accurate information about product features, prices, promotions, and stock availability.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating complex issues to the supervisor when necessary.
Promote and upsell products to achieve individual and store sales targets.
Ensure a positive and memorable shopping experience for all customers.
2. Sales & Transactions
Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately for sales, refunds, and exchanges.
Process payments via cash, credit card, or digital payment methods.
Balance the cash register at the end of the shift and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
Maintain awareness of sales goals, promotions, and inventory levels.
3. Store Presentation & Merchandising
Arrange and replenish merchandise according to display standards and brand guidelines.
Ensure shelves, racks, and displays are tidy, organized, and visually appealing.
Assist with price tagging, labeling, and promotional signage.
Report low stock or fast-moving items to the supervisor for timely replenishment.
4. Inventory Management
Assist in stock receiving, unpacking, and verifying deliveries.
Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies.
Help maintain proper stock rotation and prevent overstocking or expired goods.
Support periodic inventory audits as required by management.
5. Housekeeping & Safety
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the retail area at all times.
Follow safety and security procedures to prevent loss, theft, or damage.
Ensure compliance with resort or company policies and SOPs.
6. Teamwork & Communication
Cooperate with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Communicate effectively with supervisors about stock issues, customer feedback, or operational challenges.
Participate in briefings, product trainings, and team meetings.
