Job descriptionMinimum 3 years (junior to mid) and minimum 6 years (senior) hands-on experience as an MS SQL DBA. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 / 2019 and above). Experience with cloud-native database technologies (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or equivalent). Expertise in SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and database tuning. Strong skills in backup / recovery, high availability (Always On, clustering), and replication. Knowledge of ETL processes, automation, and database monitoring tools. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in teams. Employment type : Contract Seniority level : Mid-Senior level Job function : Information Technology
Overview
Role : Microsoft SQL Database Administrator (DBA) on a contract basis (6 months, extendable). The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration and cloud-native database technologies, and will ensure high availability, performance, and security of databases that support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases in on-premises and cloud environments.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure system efficiency.
- Oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for SQL databases.
- Implement and enforce database security, access controls, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with application teams to design, deploy, and optimize database solutions.
- Monitor and maintain database health, ensuring uptime, scalability, and reliability.
- Support upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption initiatives.
