Overview
Our client is a global creative production company that works with brands to optimize marketing assets, particularly video, for social media advertising. They are a creative marketing partner for global platforms with a focus on producing high-impact, high-volume video and image assets that drive results from brand awareness to demand generation. The company has a global presence with offices globally. They are looking for a Commercial Director to lead expansion in the Southeast Asia (SEA) market, with Malaysia / Singapore likely serving as the regional hub. The role will focus on both business development (acquiring new clients) and strategic leadership (building and scaling the team and operations).
Responsibilities
- Commercial Strategy & Business Growth : Develop and lead the commercial strategy in Southeast Asia. Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and secure new client accounts to drive aggressive and sustainable revenue growth.
- Team Leadership & Development : Recruit, mentor, and inspire a world-class commercial and client services team. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring the team is equipped to meet and exceed ambitious sales targets.
- Key Account Management : Act as the senior commercial point of contact for key clients and strategic partners. Build and nurture long-term relationships with leading brands and agencies, ensuring exceptional service delivery and account growth.
- Sales & Go-to-Market Execution : Take full ownership of the sales pipeline, from lead generation to deal closure. Oversee the entire sales cycle, ensuring our go-to-market approach is effective, our proposals are compelling, and our commercial terms are optimized for profitability.
- Market Intelligence & Analytics : Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments across SEA. Leverage data and insights to refine our product offering, pricing strategies, and sales tactics to maintain a competitive edge.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner closely with our global creative, technology, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction. You will be the voice of the SEA market, helping to shape our global product roadmap and service offerings.
- Financial & Operational Management : Develop and manage the regional budget and P&L. Accurately forecast revenue and expenses, and implement operational processes that ensure efficiency and profitability.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial leadership, sales, and business development within the digital advertising, creative, or technology sectors.Proven track record of building and scaling a commercial function in the Southeast Asia region, with demonstrable success in exceeding revenue targets.Deep understanding of the digital media and social platform landscape, including a strong knowledge of video creative, performance marketing, and client-side or agency workflows.Exceptional leadership and team-building skills. You must be able to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve shared goals.Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in managing a P&L, forecasting, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. You are a natural relationship builder and a persuasive negotiator.Based in Singapore or willing to relocate.A Bachelor 0s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required; an MBA is a plus.Seniority level
