About the Role
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to Beyondsoft’s expanding business across the Americas (primary) and Southeast Asia (secondary) regions. Based in Malaysia, the role acts as a strategic legal partner to both business and functional leaders, ensuring that all operations, contracts, and compliance frameworks are fully aligned with U.S. law and applicable international standards. This position demands a hands‑on approach to legal management, strong cross‑border advisory capability, and the confidence to operate independently across multiple time zones. It offers flexible working arrangements, with close collaboration across global teams and regular engagement with stakeholders in the Americas region.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, technology, and service agreements under U.S. jurisdiction.
- Support business teams in contract strategy, risk evaluation, and customer / vendor negotiations.
30% U.S. Compliance & Governance
Advise business leaders on corporate, data privacy, and regulatory compliance matters.Design and implement internal policies, templates, and frameworks to mitigate legal risks.Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable U.S. and SEA laws and regulations.Manage and coordinate dispute matters in collaboration with external counsel.Provide legal support for M&A, partnerships, and special projects as assigned.Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner with the Managing Director (Americas), Chief Legal Counsel (Singapore / China), and regional business heads to align legal priorities.Work closely with finance, operations, HR, and IT teams to support business execution across jurisdictions.Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized university; admission to practice law in Malaysia or other common law jurisdictions.Minimum 8 years PQE in corporate commercial, in‑house legal, or technology sector roles.Proven expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and regulatory compliance.Familiarity with U.S. law and cross‑border legal operations is essential, or the ability to quickly acquire and apply such knowledge in practice.Experience supporting M&A and dispute resolution activities preferred.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle high‑volume and time‑sensitive matters.Language : Excellent command of English; Chinese language proficiency is an advantage.Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration across geographies.Willingness for occasional international travel (1–2 times per year).#J-18808-Ljbffr
