Backend Maintenance Section Manager

Job Summary
The Semiconductor Backend Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the maintenance of Equipment of the backend manufacturing process. This covers machines from Molding to Before Test. To work closely with Production ensure that machines are up and of "Good" condition for the production of high-quality semiconductor devices meets safety, quality, output, and cost objectives. The manager leads a team of engineers, and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and strict adherence to safety protocols, in line with the company's philosophy
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management :
- Oversee the daily Equipment related activities of the backend facility, from molding, plating, trimming, marking, to before final test.
Responsible for the team's performance covering, but not limited to :
Ensuring the execution of Preventive Maintenance and enhancement of its System,
Continual challenge to achieve higher OEE,
Creative in enhancements of older model machines and improvements
Ensure Downtime is minimized
Able to work closely with vendors on the technical aspects of machine modifications, repair and services, and other related
Lead Problem Solving pertaining to machine cause issues
Ensure equipment is maintained and operational, Strong collaboration with Production and other stake holder to minimize downtime.2. Team Leadership and Development :
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, and technicians.Set clear performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and accountable team culture and collaboration with other StakeholdersNeeds to be a good communicator to not only galvanize the team, but also explain issues to management and customersManage staffing needs, including recruitment, training, and scheduling.A person who is a Leader and a Team Player3. Quality :
Machine needs to be as error proof as posibleWork closely with all stakeholders to ensure machines and tools are of good condition at all times for usageMonitor key performance indicators Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), MTBA (Mean Time between Assists), Machine Down Time Elapse.Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives (e.g., using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) for quality issues.Proper management and monitoring to ensure that Equipment have low or no risk for occurrence of human error related issues4. Continuous Improvement (CI) :
Champion and drive OEE excellence and convenience for ProductionIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance equipment utilization, downtime reduction, error proofing machine, speed up conversion, etc.5. Safety and Compliance :
Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing all company safety policies and procedures.Lead safety audits and promote a strong culture of safety awareness.Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.6. Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Coordinate with all depts on the successful transfer and setup of machines, readiness for MP and Qual buildsQualifications and Experience
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Experience :
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with a significant focus on backend assembly and test operations.Minimum of 5 years in a direct leadership or management role (e.g., Production Supervisor, Engineering Manager).Proven track record of successfully managing manufacturing lines equipment and transfer projects.Technical Skills :
In-depth knowledge of Mold, PMC, Reflow, Trim and Form, Laser Mark, Singulation.Strong understanding of statistics and data driven analysis, with sound problem solving tools know how and techniquesFamiliarity with industry standards and packaging types (e.g., SOP, TOP, QFN, Discrete Devices).Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).Soft Skills :
