Job Summary
Lead and supervise a team of Credit Analysts in conducting comprehensive credit assessments, ensuring timely and accurate analysis of credit applications, and maintaining adherence to the bank’s credit policies and risk appetite.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Credit Analysts, fostering a high‑performance culture and ensuring continuous professional growth.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end credit assessment process, from initial application review to final recommendation, for various corporate and commercial clients.
- Conduct in‑depth financial analysis, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analysis, and collateral valuation, to assess creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
- Ensure all credit proposals are prepared accurately, comprehensively, and in compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and established risk parameters.
- Provide expert guidance and support to team members on complex credit cases, structuring solutions, and resolving analytical challenges.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers and other internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient credit processing and maintain strong client relationships.
- Review credit reports and recommendations prepared by team members, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signals, and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit processes, policies, and analytical tools.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes impacting credit risk.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA) is an advantage.Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in credit analysis within the banking or financial services industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial modeling techniques.Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, assess credit risk, and make sound credit decisions.In‑depth knowledge of credit products, lending structures, and risk management practices.Familiarity with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines and other relevant regulatory frameworks.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with credit analysis software.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Additional Requirements
