Overview
The Senior Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a company's network security infrastructure to protect data and systems from cyber threats. This includes tasks like vulnerability assessments, threat analysis, and incident response. They also develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS), VPNs, and other security technologies.
- Design and implement network security architectures to protect against various threats.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate security solutions into the overall network infrastructure.
- Monitor network traffic and security systems for anomalies and potential threats.
- Respond to security incidents, including investigating breaches, containing damage, and restoring systems.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the network and systems.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP / IP, routing, switching, and wireless networking.Familiarity with common security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS / IPS, and VPNs.Experience with various security tools and technologies, such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools, and SIEM systems.Other Responsibilities
Document network configurations, security policies, and procedures.Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure security requirements are met.Assist with IT audits and regulatory compliance efforts.Required Skills and Experience
Education — Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience — 5+ years of experience in network security, with experience in large-scale, complex environments. Hands-on experience with Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls.Certifications — Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, PCNSE, or CEH, are a plus.Soft Skills — Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.#J-18808-Ljbffr
