Job Overview
IFA SFC MW BE is hiring a Middleware System Software Engineer to develop middleware software including manufacturing execution business logic, request / reply, and publish / subscribe messaging.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and support factory middleware components to enable platform and manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate with factory clients (Station Controllers) and backend system providers, as well as third‑party suppliers for a new MES replacement.
- Manage work assignments independently and oversee the entire project lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and support.
- Actively contribute to modernizing and converging the middleware stack to support all aspects of Intel Manufacturing, learning modern industry standards such as cloud, containers, Kafka, and more.
- Analyze customer requirements and design software solutions that meet them.
- Maintain clear communication with customers and stakeholders.
- Create robust, reliable, and high‑performance applications that satisfy all customer requirements.
- Write and run test suites to prove functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Provide expert support to factory technicians and process engineers on application usage.
- Learn modern software technologies and apply them to Intel manufacturing middleware needs.
Minimum Qualifications
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.1+ years of experience with semiconductor factory automation systems such as MES, MKS, PCS, NPI systems, equipment automation, and / or engineering analysis tools.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in factory automation application development, including process equipment, control systems, and data analytics.Experience translating technology roadmaps to capability deliverables.Experience with cloud technologies and containers.Experience working on Kafka and KSQL.Work Model
This role is eligible for a hybrid work model, allowing employees to split time between on‑site at the assigned Intel site and off‑site. Work model, location, and time type may change.
