Job Description
- Protect and uphold the organisation's reputation through the efficient and effective management and implementation of the organisation's communication strategies.
- Driving positive sentiments for the organisation through timely and relevant use of earned, owned and bought media.
External Communications
Plan, implement, monitor and review all media communication strategies and ensure they are aligned to corporate and business imperatives.Drive relevant tactical and news-worthy messaging efforts to optimise visibility opportunities for business units and functions.Set standards and govern processes to ensure spokespersons are media trained.Build, develop and guide a team to perform and deliver strategic, business-focused and high impact external communications through effective media relations and compelling news-driven content.Ensure a high standard of quality across all external communications materials including media training guides, briefing notes, press release, Q&As, OpEds, etc.Support CEO in all media engagementsDraft speeches and talking points for CEOProduce the organisation's annual report in a timely mannerIssues Management
Develop issue and crisis response strategies.Manage the media in the event of a crisis or issue.Provide communications counsel to the senior leadership team.Monitor media platforms, including traditional and social media platforms, and respond in a timely manner accordingly.Ensure strict compliance with the organisation's crisis management protocol and guidelines in times of crisis to manage and to resolve issues.Internal Communications
Develop and execute a bank-wide internal communications strategy in line with the organisation's strategic priorities, values and risk-based culture.Develop and execute the CEO communications programme.Manage UOB Malaysia's editorial content published on the Group's and local market's intranet sites to promote engagement.Support the business in implementing their key projects across the bank and support change management in line with the needs of the organisation.Senior Stakeholder and People Management
Provide communications counsel and direct support to the senior leadership team and their direct reports as and when required. A close working relationship with Risk Management, Compliance and Legal will also be essential.Proactively manage the Strategic Communications and Brand team, driving value from cross-collaboration in support of business objectives and the organisation's strategic priorities.Set and track ambitious targets, ensuring strong collaboration and quality output that leads to innovative and effective ways of delivering an integrated communications programme.Brand
Identify, develop and execute strategic paid media campaigns to drive brand awareness and brand recall.Track, record and deliver successful brand campaigns on time, in full and on budget.Ensure the organisation's corporate identity and brand guidelines are strictly adhered to across all marketing collateral and customer touch points.Manage media agencies and ensure performance is tracked against clear KPIs.Lead the development of all brand campaigns for the organisation.Build a consistent brand experience across all touchpoints.Manage sponsorship opportunities and requests to help build brand visibility.Plan for the timely production of all festive collateral, including festive money packets and corporate merchandise.Social Media
Plan and deliver social media content strategy in line with strategic priorities and business needs.Lead the social media team to ensure performance is in line with Group-set KPIs.Ensure effective social measurement and management tools are in place.Manage social media agencies and track their performance against clear KPIs.Ensure social media listening and governance are in place to protect the organization's reputationCorporate Social Responsibility
Manage the organisations's annual art competition and related art activities to support the organisation's position as a patron of the arts.Ensure the organisation's philanthropy, partnership and participation initiatives are in line with the organisation's CSR pillars.Conceptualise and implement the organisation's annual fundraiser through the UOB Heartbeat Run / Walk.Implement and oversee volunteer and community outreach programmes across the organisation.Requirements
Minimum of 10 years' experience in Corporate Communications / PR / Branding / Internal Communications / Reputation Management / Journalism and social media.Knowledge and experience of the financial services / banking industry will be an added advantage.Proven ability to build trust and win the confidence of senior internal and external stakeholders.Strong understanding of current social media landscape.Proven track record for delivering successful integrated communications strategies, on time, in full and on budget.Structured approach to planning and processes, including proven ability to track and to meet targets.Excellent writing skills, including the ability to structure and substantiate a persuasive argumentExperience managing cross-functional teams.Strong project management, problem solving, negotiation, analytical and time management skills.Attention to detail, driven self-starter with positive outlook.Ability to teach and mentor more junior colleagues.Additional Requirements
