Job descriptionResolve complex production issues related to Java, APIs, database interactions, memory leaks, timeouts, etc. Perform log analysis, trace root causes in Java / Spring Boot codebase, and provide emergency fixes. Collaborate with DevOps / SRE to enhance alerting, identify application bottlenecks, and monitor system KPIs. Resolve issues across distributed services including API failures, container logs, service discovery errors, etc. Investigate PL / SQL queries, stored procedures, and DB connection issues in Oracle / MySQL environments. Use tools like ELK, Splunk, or Prometheus / Grafana to track system behavior and exceptions. Validate production deployments, perform sanity checks, rollbacks if needed, and provide post-release support. Contribute to knowledge base, RCA documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and preventive action plans. Act as SME / escalation point for L2 support teams and guide junior engineers on best practices.
Job Requirements
- Deep understanding of Java-based application behavior, thread dumps, memory profiling, and code tracing.
- Distributed logging, circuit breaker issues, service registry, container logs, async messaging problems.
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries, troubleshoot DB locks, connection pool issues, and stored procedures.
- Use structured approaches (5 Whys, Fishbone) for RCA and maintain consistent post-incident reporting.
- Experience with ELK Stack, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or AppDynamics for tracing and alerting.
- Code hotfixes, basic patch packaging, branching strategy, PRs.
- Managing incidents, changes, and problems per SLA using tools like ServiceNow.
- Write effective handoffs, RCA documents, release notes, and technical SOPs.
