Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Finance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate accounting, cost control, budgeting, forecasting and compliance, specifically focused on body & paint products / operations. Support management decision‑making with timely, relevant financial information, and ensure financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare full set of accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Ensure statutory compliance with Malaysian laws & regulations (Companies Act, Income Tax, SST / GST if applicable, etc.), relevant accounting standards (MFRS), and audit requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Lead annual budgeting process, coordinate with operations (body & paint shop, production, procurement, sales) to project costs and revenues.
- Monitor actual performance vs budget; provide variance analysis and propose corrective actions.
- Develop financial forecasts and scenario planning.
- Costing & Cost Control
- Set up or maintain product / job / service costings (body repair jobs, paint jobs, material costs, labour, overhead).
- Analyse material consumption, labour utilisation, paint waste, inventory shrinkage, overhead absorption.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Monitor and manage cash flows, ensure sufficient liquidity for operations (material purchases, payroll, overheads).
- Manage receivables, payables, inventory levels (paint stocks, solvents, body repair material), and suppliers to optimise working capital.
- Establish, maintain, and improve internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure proper record‑keeping, approvals, segregation of duties, and compliance with company policies.
- Oversee risk assessment (financial, operational, regulatory) and implement mitigation actions.
- ERP / Systems Oversight & Reporting Tools
- Manage and / or work with IT / Systems team to ensure finance & accounting systems (ERP) support the business (job costing, inventory tracking, production / paint shop tracking).
- Develop dashboards, management reports, KPIs for body & paint operations, sales, production, margins.
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance & accounting staff.
- Work closely with body & paint operations management, procurement, sales, production planning and other departments to support business objectives.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision‑making.
- Other Duties
- Ad hoc financial analysis, special projects (e.g. evaluation of new equipment, cost of new paint technologies, expansion projects).
- Support pricing strategy (material, paint job pricing) to ensure margin targets are met.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. Professional qualification preferred (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA).Relevant experience (typically 5‑10 years) in finance / accounting roles, with at least 2‑3 years in a managerial / supervisory position.Experience in the body & paint or automotive industry is highly advantageous.Strong proficiency in ERP systems, financial modelling, Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.Good communication skills (English and Bahasa Malaysia), able to present financial data in understandable terms to non‑finance stakeholders. Ability in Mandarin will be an added advantage.Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, integrity.Strategic thinking and commercial awareness.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.Adaptability and continuous improvement mindset.Work location : Chan Sow Lin, Kuala Lumpur.
